Top Riad stays and dining in Marrakesh

Marrakesh is one of those cities that hits all the senses at once. The sound of scooters weaving through the medina, the smell of spices and orange blossom, the warm terracotta tones everywhere you look. It’s intense, but it’s also incredibly soothing once you find your rhythm.

Here’s a short, curated Marrakesh city guide, the places I loved, tested and would genuinely recommend.

Where to stay

Riad Sun of Kech

If you want to experience Marrakesh properly, staying in a traditional riad inside the medina is the way to go.

The rooms are super authentic and beautiful, with traditional decor that instantly makes you feel somewhere special. Everything feels calm and intimate, a real contrast to the buzzing streets outside.

Food deserves a special mention:

– Breakfast is delicious, fresh and generous
– Dinner is absolutely amazing! I highly recommend the olive chicken, a true comfort dish done perfectly

The staff is also incredibly kind and attentive, always ready to help without being overbearing. One of those places that makes you feel at home, but better.

Food & drinks

Food favorites

Eat at your Riad (trust me on this):
One of the best meals I had in Marrakesh was at the riad itself, and honestly, that’s something I’d recommend without hesitation.

Dar Yacout:
Traditional Moroccan cuisine served in a stunning riad setting. Multiple rooms, candlelight, and a very theatrical atmosphere.

Nomad:
To eat traditional modern Moroccan food on a beautiful rooftop, and a calm atmosphere despite being in the heart of the medina. Perfect for lunch or an early dinner.

Drinks favorites

Epicurien:
I recommend it just to drink and if you’re looking for a festive night out. This is an upscale spot with a glamorous crowd, good music and a real party atmosphere. It’s definitely on the expensive side, but worth it if you’re in the mood to dress up and go all in for one night.

El Fenn:
One of the best rooftops in the city. I recommend comming just before sunset to get the best lighting.

Kabana Marrakesh:
A delicious latin-inspired menu with DJ sets, and a great rooftop energy at night. You better go ther after 9pm.
